We agree that PRSSA is an incredibly long acronym. We have to explain it to our friends all the time. Here’s the low-down:

· Its purpose is to build relationships between students and public relations practitioners and to better prepare students for the field of PR · It was founded in 1968 by PRSA, the Public Relations Society of America, whose members basically run the industry · There are over 9,600 PRSSA members at 284 universities across the country, many of whom we mingle with at national activities. It’s awesome.

 

 

It’s different here. You work closely with your professors, you plan events, you have on-campus clients. The PRSSA chapter at Chapman has made some big changes, and we’d like you to be a part of them. What do you get to do as a member? Well, we’re glad you asked.

· Plan the Chapman Oscar Party, screened live in Marion Knott Studios · Network with alumni and other industry professionals · Work on teams with other PR/Ad students · Hear about exclusive internships through our PRSSA network · Learn from industry professionals who visit Chapman to speak at some of our meetings You’ll get experience outside the classroom, build your resume and get an edge over other PR/Ad students. Now's the time to join Chapman PRSSA. Down to business. Here is our official Mission: The mission of Chapman PRSSA is to give students a competitive edge in the field of public relations through learning, service, and leadership opportunities offered in networking with public relations professionals and working with clients on campus and off, locally, regionally, and nationally.
